Strates - Marble
Strates
Marble table lamp
Strates is cut entirely from marble. No shade, no visible metal. When it is lit, the light stays in the gap and warms the stone around it.
Dimensions
Height: 12.6 in (32 cm)
Width: 11.8 in (30 cm)
At 12.6 inches, Strates sits well on a console table, a side table or a low shelf. The discs are wider than the stem: allow about 12 inches of clear surface.
Materials & care
Warm white marble with deep violet veining (Calacatta Viola type), satin finish. The veins run differently through each disc.
Shade: two stacked marble discs, with the light concealed between them.
Power: corded, plug-in. Meant for a fixed place in the room, near an outlet.
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners on the marble.

Two discs of stone, and a line of light between them.
Strates is made entirely of marble. There is no shade and no visible metal. Lit, the light stays in the gap and warms the stone on either side.
A line of light in the stone.
A straight marble stem carries two identical discs, stacked and centered. The light sits in the narrow space between them.
Switched off, Strates is a piece of sculptural lighting that holds its place on its own. Switched on, it draws one warm line across the room.
On a warm stone surface. Lamp on.
Two discs of Calacatta Viola.
The stone
Warm white marble, crossed by deep violet veins. Each block has its own pattern, so no two lamps are alike.
The light
A contained, warm glow between the discs. Ambient light that sets a mood rather than lighting the room.
The finish
Satin, not polished. The surface stays soft to the eye, in daylight and at night.
A single point of warmth.
A console table in the entry. A side table by a reading chair. A dark corner that needs a single point of warmth.

About Strates.
Will my lamp look exactly like the photos?
The shape and the proportions will. The veining will differ: this is natural marble, and every block is different.
How much light does it give?
Bellerives lamps give ambient light. They set the mood of a room; they are not meant to light a desk or a kitchen. Each lamp is photographed in a real room, and the light described on this page matches what you see.
How much is delivery, and how long does it take?
Standard delivery is free and takes 8–12 days. Any other delivery option, with its cost, is shown at checkout before you pay.
Stone, chosen piece by piece.
Bellerives is a French lighting house. We work with natural stone only: marble and travertine, chosen block by block for their veining, their color and their density. Each lamp is made in small numbers in the workshop of a French artisan, and made to last.
