New Works marble and glass table lamp in a sunlit Paris salon
Bellerives

Light, set in stone.

Table lamps in marble, travertine and opal glass, from a French lighting house. Made in small numbers, to stay.

Presence

Glass, a fluted column and polished chrome. A lamp that holds the room in daylight.

Quiet architecture

A lamp is often the last thing you choose, and the first thing you notice.

Each Bellerives lamp starts from a material: a block of marble, a column of travertine, a bowl of glass. The rest follows from it. Lit or not, it holds its place in the room.

The finishing touch

The last object in the room.

The sofa is in place. The rug, the table, the art on the wall. And still, the room has not closed its sentence.

Often what is missing is light at the right height, in the right material. A lamp on a console or a nightstand changes how the whole room reads.

The house

A short collection, closely kept.

01

Edited, not assembled

Thirteen lamps, drawn to live together. A new piece joins only when it belongs to the same quiet, architectural world.

02

Stone you can read

Marble and travertine photographed close enough to follow the veining, the pores and the polish.

03

Light, told honestly

Every lamp is shown on and off, in a real room. We describe the light it gives, and nothing more.

Sculptural lighting

Sculpture that happens to give light.

Travertine, Statuario marble, bronze, opal glass. Some lamps are as much an object as a light: a silhouette that gives depth and texture to a considered interior, even in full daylight.

Minimal

Cordless and rechargeable. Set it where it looks best.

The house codes

Four codes, kept in every lamp.

Restraint

Nothing added for effect. The material is the ornament.

Proportion

Height, width and weight are drawn for the surface the lamp will live on.

Warmth

A light that settles a room in the evening, never one that floods it.

Permanence

Stone, glass and bronze, chosen to look right in ten years, not only this season.

On and off

By day, an object. By night, a light.

Switched off, a lamp should hold its own as a piece of the room. Lit, it should give exactly the light it promises. We photograph both.
